Oh how I love, love, love Sex and the City. The fashion, the girls, the men, I love it all and on May 27, 2010 Sex and the City 2 hits theaters! The foursome have inspired me so much when it comes to creating my jewelry and handbags......I guess I can thank Patricia Fields for that too! Any who I hear the fashion this time around is bigger and better so here is just a taste for what's to come...........

You can get the FINGER!!

One of the most favorite accessories in my jewelry closet (yes I said jewelry closet) is the Cocktail Ring!! It can add a bit of sparkle to my jeans and tee, or complete my red carpet look, and it always, always, gets the conversation started!! I have this Buddha ring with a rhinestone encrusted head that I purchased on ebay and every time I wear it people always stop me and ask where I got it. The thing with the cocktail ring is the BIGGER the BETTER. Give me 4 carats or more. Be bold, be brave, go BIG or go home! Elizabeth Taylor was the best at following this rule so take some inspiration from her. When you're shopping for the cocktail ring and you're in the store trying it on and think "This is way too big" take it to the cashier IMMEDIATELY and BUY! And yes fake is fine, no one really expects you to be able to afford a closet full of real 4 carat rings. If you're having a hard time trying to find the right ring Google Kenneth Jay Lane. Even if you aren't having a hard time still Google the man he is the costume jewelry guru! Just a few to make you want more..........

I love when the rabbit says that and throws the tea cup. A little deranged no! This is a lot different from the Alice in Wonderland that I grew up watching. My girls don't fully understand why I won't take them to see the movie, I think its a bit much for them right now (they're 7 and 5.) However I do love the fashion that has been inspired by the film directed by the great Tim Burton, so I let them pick some of their favorite pieces. Some of these are actually my favorites too................

In my Cosmetic Bag!

Yesterday I noticed women pulling out horrible compacts and further noticed the horrible cosmetic bag they were coming from. As promised today I'm going to talk about what should be the fab cosmetic bag! Notice I said "should be". I saw women carrying the baddest designer handbags but they paid no attention to their cosmetic bag. They were dusty, crusty, and just plain 'ol ugly!! Why would you do such a thing?? If you been reading my blog from the beginning you've learned that you can still be absolutely stylish with out breaking the bank. There are infinite possibilities to choose from, so why or why aren't we choosing them?? You can even find a cute one at the dollar store for, yup you guessed it a buck! Mirror, Mirror in my Purse!

So while out and about in the city today I happen to notice the mirrors that women carry in their make-up bags(BTW the make-up bags were a mess as well but I'll talk about that tomorrow;), and in my opinion they were not something that should be pulled out in public!! Old dusty MAC compacts, chipped, broken, and just uncared for!! Where did the days go when women carried utterly stunning compacts?? I myself carry a patent leather croc embossed compact,with two sides. One side with a regular mirror, the other magnified , just in case I see a stray hair that needs tweezing along my brow line;) And price is NOT a problem!! They can be found everywhere, from Kenneth J. Lane to Forever 21. Anywho here are a few of my faves I found while searching the net.......

It has been reported today that the amazingly talented British designer Alexander McQueen took his life in the early hours of the morning. Both the fashion world and his personal world will truly miss this great talent. I knew him only through his works of art...........

Does anyone have the time?

I feel as though the watch is not paid as much attention as the rest of the accessories in the jewelry box. I'm guilty of sometimes shunning the watch but I'm about to change all of that. I was on the Nordstrom website and found a plethora of FAB watches for every occasion! Some ceramic, some rubber, some with crystals, some with charms, and even a super cute heart pendant necklace! It was a feast for the eyes.....or shall I say the wrist. With these on deck you'll want everyone to ask you what time it is! Who knew telling time could be so fun and good looking.......
