Bosom Buddies!!

Hey people, I know I've been gone for a minute but I'm back with a great new find and its just in time for all those great Christmas gifts!! It's called the Bosom Button, super cute and functional. The bosom button replaces the need for a safety pin when trying to close your wrap dresses, low cut blouses, and whatever else you want to use it for. They're available in Swarovski crystal, pearls, or gems and smaller than a dime. For about $25 bucks you can purchase a collection of 3 or for $12 you can purchase 1! I say go for the 3 and have options. Check out www.bosombutton.com for more info! Merry Christmas......

*Singing to the top of my lungs* These Boots are made for walking and that's just what I'll do... It's time for the BOOTS!!! Oh how I wish to be.....Forever 21!

So while I was searching the web high and low I came across some dresses that look high but are very low! I know in a time of the recession, Fashionistas have become Recessionistas! Some have found this to be a harder feat to pull off than others. I just happen to be one who has been shopping like this for years, well before the recession. I have 2 little Princesses and we all have to be fly! Anyway I'm passing on my FAB finds to YOU! Forever21 is the site and you must stop by. They had all the trends and a couple of classics at a fantastic price. All of the dresses below are under $40, and at prices like that you can buy all 8 and trick yourself into thinking that your not feeling the blow of a tighter budget....at least for a day or so. Hopefully the assortment of dresses I have added will entice you to go to www.forever21.com and check it out for yourself.......

Ruthie and Me!

OK so if you haven't heard of Ruthie Davis, she is this rediciously FAB shoe designer with designs to LIVE FOR! I was turned on to her by my dear friend Raval (Hey Beauty Bee...lol). Upon entering her website www.ruthiedavis.com I was greeted by yummy flats, delicious booties, and divine pumps that made me go loco!! They were absolutely stunning, bright color combos, big bling, studs, and straps! Ahhhh what more could a girl ask for.......

I'm a Pretty Ballerina......

Well not really but, I do love a ballet flats! Now just to give you a little bit of my back story, there once was a time when I wore NOTHING BUT STILETTOS, then I had two beautiful daughters and somehow my stilettos just wouldn't do at the grass filled park. So I had to find something equally as cute that could take me from the park with MY girls to "The Park @ Fourteenth" with THE girls all in the wink of an eye (I live in DC and The Park is a cute little lounge where I can catch up with The girls for Happy Hour!!) So back to the Ballet.... you can find them all over from Target to Tory Burch (ahhh how we love Tory Burch), but this week I was in Old Navy where I found the cutest gold cut-out ballet flats! And it gets even better they were on sale for $17.99 with an additional 50% off the sale price which brought them down to $8.99!!! So at that price I said why not get a shirt. So I pick up this cute little white number that was on sale for $14.99 and again with an additional 50% off the sale price which brought that down to $7.49. Ahhh how I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to catch a good deal. In this economy that made me feel like a millionaire! And don't worry I followed the rule: Don't buy anything unless you have three items in your closet that you can wear it with. And boy do I. What I love about these ballet flats is although they have the cut-outs they can take me into Fall and Winter and back again by pairing them with a pair of great opaque tights. Can't you just imagine those gold flats against a pair of purple tights (and if you weren't you are now!! lol) But anywho I shall hold you no longer and let you see the goods.......

High & Low

Ever see a person walking down the street and say "Wow that outfit looks Great!" Then you head out to the mall and happen to see those Fab jeans that that great girl had on and your jaw drops, because you discover they are from Forever 21!! Then you go on to wonder "How did she pull off such a feat, they didn't look like they were from Forever 21." She MIXES, her high with her low that is. We all have those pieces in our closet. The $70 jeans, the $300 bag, the $50 dollar shoes we got from Payless (please tell me you went and got those shoes from the previous 2 posts!!), and the $5 shirt from Target. The difference between that Great girl walking down the street and you is, she Mixes! She takes her $20 jeans and wears them with her $5 shirt BUT she pairs them with her high end bag or maybe her high end shoes, and adds fabulous bling to blind sight you from a far so you can't stare too long! LOL And then she tops it off with a wonderfully delicious scent that further intoxicates you and all you see is Greatness!! Now the pieces don't have to be as I named them but you get the idea. I have a wonderfully fabulous friend, Dior. She pulls this look off all the time with what seems as little to no effort at all! Every time I see her she looks great! And when I ask her "Where did you get those shoes from?" her response...sometimes is "Gurl Payless $20" LOL And I'm always amazed! But I have also discovered that when wearing anything high or low how you walk and how high you hold your head, and how you carry yourself also play a great role. My friend Dior walks the streets of DC as though she owns them....as one should. She has a great positive aura about her and even on her toughest day she still looks Fantastic....as one should! I've included a look mixing the high with the low! I'll bet you can't figure out which is which........

Ok so I know I've been gone for a couple weeks and I'm sorry! But I'm back with some fab new goodies!! Fab Shoes at a Fab Price!

Just look at the goodies I found at Payless! Alice + Olivia and Lela Rose both have lines at Payless and the shoes are utterly FAB! I found two great booties by Alice + Olivia and one by Lela Rose!! I love the cobalt blue booties by Lela Rose. They come complete with a tassel bow tie (remember I talked about tassels in a previous post!), cuff detail, and a wonderfully delicious faceted heel. They are just wonderful, and at $34.99 you so want these in your closet! Alice + Olivia have a great bondage double buckle biker boot that would make a great addition to my shoe collection, and they also have a cute studded peep toe bootie! Both are $49.99 and needless to say they will also be in my closet. So $140 for three pair of FAB booties sounds like a deal to me! Take a look for yourself and tell me what you think.....

Wrap your hands around this......

My love affair with handbags has caused me to write about the sometimes overlooked Clutch. The small yet mighty clutch comes in all shapes, sizes, colors, and textures. Some in the standard shape of the envelope and some as wild and crazy as the shape of a bean! Some plain and some decked out with all types of extras. Despite its size, the clutch is one that should be held front and center for all to see and admire!! I love the simplicity and at times the complex nature of such bag. The clutch can easily take you from day to night with the slightest of ease. It can be a fun addition to your outfit or it can be the focal point of your look. I've searched far and wide and put together some of the hottest clutches on the market.......for the moment that is, next week will bring somethings new! (That's the good thing about Fashion, its ever changing!)

Chains, Grommets, Tassels, & Zippers!

So the buzz on the block is that accessorizing with Chains, Grommets, Tassels, & Zippers will be all the rage this season. I've checked it out and its a definite MUST! Maybe on a shoe, maybe or bag, or maybe even on a piece of jewelry. Don't be afraid to experiment and step outside your box. Some of the best looks have come from experimenting! Cole Haan has a fabulous chocolate suede boot, the Nancy Air Tall Boot, with a patent tassel that is just darling! They also have the Nancy Air Sandal (also with a tassel). These suede beauties are the perfect accessory to a high waist mini and colorful tights! I love the Zinfandel Suede color it's Muy Fabuloso!! And if you're wondering why they have the word "Air" in the name it's because Cole Haan partnered with Nike Air and they now have Nike Air technology in ALL of the soles!! Which means you can dance all night long or walk the streets of your hometown and not have to worry about aching feet! Gotta love it. Abaete' for Payless has a great faux suede ankle bootie adorned with multiple chains and at a price of $49.99 it's a definite MUST have!! I've included pics of pieces to give you some inspiration, hopefully it will help you in finding your own style!

Summer Night Cool Down!

As Summer comes to an end the temperature starts to drop! Not quite cool enough to bring out your coats but definitely cool enough to feel a slight chill as you walk the park or stop for a drink. When I get dressed in the morning I try to wear clothes that can carry me from day to night with the slightest of ease without being too fussy! So my solution for the Summer Night Cool Down is to go with items that will keep you cool in the day but warm at night! Try a lightweight long sleeve dress or a quarter length sleeve. But the keep is to wear fabrics that BREATHE!! If you wear clothes that don't breathe you're in for a world of trouble!! Below is a little number that I think is great. It's a great color, fabulous embroidery, and it will give you that breathing room that I was talking about! Pin your hair up and let the outfit be the focus. Pile on the bangles and maybe stack a few rings and go with a simple earring! These tips will be sure to keep all eyes on you....and who knows maybe get you a drink or two!

Sophisticated Barrettes!

So we all like to pin our hair up at times and go with a simple updo, or a low ponytail but the only problem is trying to find a clip to hold the style in place! You want something to match your sophisticated style but never quite find what you're looking for. Or if you do find what you're looking for it cost an arm and a leg, and you're left wondering what to do now?! I've search the Internet high and low and after not really finding what I was looking for at the price I wanted I went ahead and created some MYSELF (Did u really think I wouldn't)!! I made these out of french barrette clips and some leather scraps I had left over from a bag I was making(don't worry I'm going to post that later on!!) So here are some pictures of the clips and how I wear them! The clips go for $5 a pair! I know what you're thinking.....you're welcome! You can shoot me an e-mail if you are interested in purchasing a pair or two. Enjoy....

Bubbles, Babbles, and Bibs!!

A new season means a reason to buy new clothes and a reason to buy new jewelry and accessories to match those clothes!! So after searching the web for inspiration and racking my brain to come up with new ideas for Fall/Winter 09-10 I came up with Bubbles, Babbles, and Bibs! My newest collection containing necklaces, bracelets, earrings, and rings. A playful collection that can be dressed up or down! And in this economy pieces that you can wear day to night are a definite must! And it also means less to pack when you go on vacation! Wear with jeans and a tee to run errands or a little black dress to cocktail hour. Either way your sure to be satisfied!

What to do about Fall!?

As Summer comes to an end Fall begins and that means a whole new fashion outlook! In addition to my closet staples I'll be adding new pieces to make what is old new! In my search I came across some pieces from H&M that will be able to help carry me through the next season. Sequin vests, pretty layered ruffle tops, grown-up ballerina skirts, hats and much more. I love the this hat from H&M in particular. Maybe it's the shape of the brim or the little bow on the side or it may even be the color, but something about this hat gives me an old school glamour girl feel. I love it! Paired with a mini(not too mini I'm still a Mom LOL), opaque tights, ballerina flats, and a cute waist length coat and I'm ready to hit the town with my girls! I've added some pictures of some of the goodies H&M has to offer for the up coming season. I know I'll be adding a few, maybe you will consider doing the same!
